I am pleased to be running for the position of Florida State Representative, District 17.

I have lived in St JohnsCountyall my life, and am a third-generation small business owner of A.D. Davis Construction.  I worked my way from demolition crew to President of the business.  My wife of 23 years, Darcy, and I have four children.  Darcy won the HartleyElementary School’s 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year award.  We have a lot to be proud of with our school district, and I intend to continue supporting our teachers, students and parents by allowing the local administration to do their jobs in maintaining our success. 

I have been involved in community service organizations and projects for two decades and believe in giving back to a community that has provided so much for me.  I was honored to be awarded by the St Johns Welfare Federation and Catholic Charities for my service.  I am also past president of the St. Augustine Rotary Club, the St. Augustine YMCA board and The Arc of St. Johns board. 

I am a conservative businessman, a lifelong republican, I am pro-life, and I strongly support our second amendment.  My experience as a business owner drives me to help get government out of the way of the growth and success of Floridabusinesses.  We need government to be a partner of small business, not a barrier.  Government doesn’t create jobs, businesses do; we have to stop raising taxes and must reduce government waste and spending. 

I have proven myself in business and am proud to have the endorsement of the Associated Industries of Florida, the NE FL Homebuilders and the St Johns County Realtors.  I also have earned the support of many of our local officials and business leaders to include Rep. Bill Proctor, Sheriff David Shoar, Police Chief Loran Lueders, Mark Bailey, David Mariotti and Herb Peyton. 

I will work hard to represent St Johns County in Tallahassee, while maintaining my work ethic and integrity.  I thank you in advance for your support; I would be honored to receive your vote on August 14^th.
